Experience points are what you earn for completing quests, killing enemies, and discovering new Codex entries. After reaching a set number of experience points, players will gain a level. The amount of points received depends on the difference between the levels of the monster killed and the character. If the levels are the same, the normal amount of experience points is received, however, if the player has a higher level the amount of experience received is less than normal.
If a player enters or logs out at a cantina, the fleet or any other rest area, they get a bonus to the amount of experience they receive every time they kill an enemy.
